The Mixtape Project (KEY) imitating the dog presents… The Mixtape Project Calling all wordsmiths, lyricists, beatmakers and content creators… If you’ve got something to say – verbally, visually or sonically – this is the project for you! Working with spoken word artist, rapper & musician Testament, and video artist Laura Spark, you’ll create your own lyrical, musical, and visual responses to imitating the dog’s unique theatre production All Blood Runs Red – which tells the extraordinary true life story of Eugene Bullard: The first black fighter pilot, and jazz drummer, spy, and civil rights activist. You’ll have space to explore your personal reflections on the themes and issues presented in the show, and to create original lyrical and poetic responses set to music and video remixed from the visual and sonic palettes of the show itself. Selected audio/video pieces created in the workshops will be uploaded to a public playlist, cumulatively creating an online ‘mixtape’ of creative responses from young artists across the country. Dates: Thu 27 Booking and More Information
